Samuel D. Walker, Jr. (he/him/his) is an educator, director, and arts administrator based in Saint Petersburg, Florida, specializing in theatre for youth and theatre for social change.

He is passionate about creating spaces where young people are not only trained as performers, but are empowered to discover their voice, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and cultivate a strong sense of self through the arts. His work centers on Theatre with, for, and by Youth, using theatre as a tool for artistic growth, personal development, community building, and social awareness.

Samuel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Acting from Greensboro College. His work has reached classrooms and stages internationally, including projects in South Africa, tours throughout New Hampshire and Vermont, and productions across North Carolina and Florida. Along the way, he has worked with award-winning artists from Broadway, television, film, and visual media industries, experiences that continue to inform his approach to developing young artists.

A skilled educator and program builder, Samuel has extensive experience designing and leading theatre programs that prioritize artistic excellence, student leadership, and inclusive community. He co-founded and previously served as Artistic Director of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth theatre in Pittsboro, North Carolina, where he helped create meaningful performance and leadership opportunities for young people.

He currently serves as the theatre teacher and director at the premier magnet middle school in Pinellas County, guiding students through rigorous, student-centered training while fostering creativity, collaboration, and personal growth.

He is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Walker Studios, LLC, a youth theatre training studio based in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Across all of his work, Samuel remains committed to creating healthy, affirming environments where young people are challenged to grow, encouraged to take risks, and supported in becoming confident artists, leaders, and individuals. His mission remains the same: to create healthy spaces where youth can be themselves and believe in themselves.
